Meet Shef Ebony

Before becoming a Master Chef and Food Designer, Shef Ebony grew up watching her mom and older brothers in the kitchen.

Every weekend her  mom would take her fishing at Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC.

Whatever they caught that day would be dinner that night. She loved Watching her family catch their food, prep it, and then create a feast around the dinner table.

It taught her how to create delicious and affordable meals, while creating memories with her family .

Being creative and resourceful has taught her how to use ingredients and various cooking techniques to make magic in the kitchen.

Shef Ebony always knew from a young age that she would be in the culinary field.

Food has always been her passion.

That same creativity and resourcefulness is what has allowed Shef Ebony to thrill both corporate clients and new chefs alike. You can usually find her in the kitchen, with some music playing in the background and a glass of merlot in hand.

However, having been intentional with learning both front of house and back of house service as well,  has allowed her to provide consulting to corporate companies and mentorship budding chefs.

Being a leader in the culinary industry, Shef Ebony has been highly sought by corporations like IKEA ATLANTA, Cox Media, and Georgia Power to name a few, to partner with them to bring extraordinary events to their kitchen or place of business.

Chef with an S

Shef Ebony is often asked why she spells Chef with an S?

As a chef in the industry, she worked in many kitchens that were male dominated.

Shef Ebony always wondered why she never had the opportunity to work with men nor women that looked like her in head chef positions. She  was always a dreamer and  had many superior male chefs tell her that she wouldn’t get to where she wanted to be or that she wouldn’t be allowed to move up past a certain level. Instead of letting their opinions dictate her story, Shef Ebony decided to create a business and a brand that would elevate her skills, introduce her to new opportunities while empowering both herself and women of color in the culinary industry at the same time.

Shef Ebony came up with the idea of changing the “C'” in Chef to an “S”

She’s a Chef became her motto from that point on and Shef Ebony was born.

Shef Ebony took her power back! They told her No, She told herself YES! I am Shef Ebony with an S, because SHE IS a Chef! When she showed up, there would be an S on her chest and determination to be the best in her heart.
